FANCYDRESS
We theme the festival each year to help with ideas for decor and such stuff. We also like people to dress up! This year its The Sci-Fi Adventures. Niki's son Jake was promised it would be Starwars as it's his birthday the week before but we thought best not, what with copyright etc and also the other girl's on the crew wanted to wear more shiny stuff and latex. The Magic Hatstand guys and girls will be back with their Magic Wardrobe of goodies with accessories and fancy dress at affordable prices or simply get creative with some tin foil. You can check out some of last years costumes on our gallery!

THE NONSENSE POLICE
We have commendeered a small chosen few who have been recognised for their 'Outstanding Contribution to Tomfoolery and Baffoonery' to be our resident onsite walk about. They will be bringing you such delights as The Pole Dancing Dance Off, Speed Dating, Glitter Paddling Pool Wrestling, Sports Wars, The Devon Derby and a whole load of other things to get you messy, sweaty and smiling!

TRAVEL
We do try and be a bit green at Aeon HQ and recommend car sharing or catching a bus or train. Don't forget that to camp on the Thursday night you will need to buy a £5 car pass so if you fill the car up that can work out as only £1 per person for a nights camping!

Shobrooke Park is situated a 5 minute drive from Crediton. There is a train station and bus service in the town with both running at regular intervals from Exeter. The bus service runs right past Shobrooke Park but don’t forget its a bank holiday! So times will vary from normal running hours. It’s about a half hour walk from the centre of Crediton or you can cycle, there’s plenty of heras fencing you can chain your bike to!

Stagecoach runs the 315 from Exeter to Barnstaple via Crediton but with just 2 services on Sundays and bank holidays. The No. 50, 50A, 50B and 51 runs from Exeter to Hatherleigh via Crediton approx every 30 minutes and every hour on Sundays and bank holidays. The last service is 11pm but make sure you check with Stagecoach beforehand in case this info has changed.

LITTER
All festivals create lots of litter and all things being relative all festivals end up spending a huge amount of money on dealing with it! We have gone from a trailer load the first year to about 4 tonnes of the stuff. Which isn't much compared to the big festivals but it's still alot to deal with. As we don't have a huge budget we try and get everyone pro-active in keeping the site clear and for the most part this works. This year we will be trying to hand out bin bags at the start to all festival goers to help keep their patch clean and tidy. We will also have more bins in place. But its still alot of hauling rubbish for the crew. So please use the bins and we will try and keep up with emptying them. There will be seperate bins for cans and general landfill plus all our caterers and the bar use compostable cups and plates. Everyone was brilliant last year so lets continue to do our bit to keep Shobrooke looking gorgeous please!

TOILETS
Our loo's are really good. They're not posh but they're kept pristine all weekend long. In fact we were in the top 10 in the country last year in the UK Festival Awards for having nice loo's! We keep them topped up with loo roll all weekend and they're emptied twice aday and cleaned 3 times a day. If you spot a poo loo please report it to a steward who can get a message to one of us to clean it up.

LOST PROPERTY
We have a site office situated near the main stage so please hand in any lost property you may have found there. If you have lost something you can leave a detailed description, phone number, address and email address at the site office and we will try and get things back to you if they are found.

CAPACITY
The Site is licensed for up to 5000 but we think between 2500 - 3000 is a nice number to keep the festival small and intimate. The last 2 festivals have had about 2500 people on site which was lovely. All the shops selling tickets have sold out before the festival in previous years and there has been room for us to sell tickets on the gate as well. But weekend and day tickets sold on the gate will be limited and at our discretion. If we feel the site, parking or camping has reached a capacity we will have to turn away people who haven't bought advanced tickets.

DRIVING HOME
If you are local and just coming to the festival by car on day tickets don’t forget the usual laws still apply with drink driving. There will be police on site and response cars in the area at the end of each night. Make sure you have a designated driver. The main road past the festival site is very fast so be aware if you are walking home. You won't be able to sleep in your car or stay in the main camping area if you have day tickets.

Some crime prevention advice we borrowed from the Bestival website!

Do not attempt to bring illegal drugs into the festival. Searches will be carried out. If you take prescribed medication keep it with you at all times.

Only bring with you what you can afford to lose. Remember, there’s no way you can make a tent 100% secure.

Mark you property. Label your belongings with your postcode.

Protect your mobile phone. Do this now: on your mobile phone key in *#06# and your unique International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number will be displayed. Make a note of this number so that if you lose your phone or if it is stolen you can contact your service provider to have the phone immobilised.

Keep cash and possessions on you. But don’t keep all your money, bank cards and valuables together — spread them around in different pockets.

Aeon is a fairly small festival, it has a fantastic atmosphere and is really chilled out. We are lucky to have had very few incidents over the past 4 years. If however you are unfortunate to become a victim of crime report it immediately to a steward or a member of the site office crew. There will be police on site a various intervals and we can get the information to them if required. If you spot anything untoward or suspicious report it to a steward or the security immediately.
